The athletic booster club at high schools in Harrison Township is apparently funded by the margins coming from the local bingo hall conducted on the weekly basis. The L'Anse Creuse weekly Bingos were once conducted in the school's gym in which smoking was prohibited; this ultimately led to the private hall renting. More than 100 have come to the rented hall and as records have shown the annual profits generated approximately $40,000 and directed at finding various athletic projects at the high school. Officials however, are not deluded that Bingo, which took off only in August will become a major money source for the many financial ailments of the school, but they've reached the agreement that if this Bingo project can cover the expenses of some out of town classes or various club trips, or allow purchasing sport equipment, then it is worth the investment. Another nice thing about it is that it keeps the kids at home and not roving from door to door, offering goods to the neighbors.
